Tutorial | Getting Started With Uptick on Loopring
Congratulations, you’re about to step into the Uptick NFT Multiverse!
Uptick on Loopring is the open NFT marketplace, powered by Uptick Network and Loopring. It builds the secure, fast and cheap NFT ecosystem on Ethereum zkRollup Layer2. Uptick on Loopring is a solid step in Uptick’s multi-chain strategy. Uptick aims to build multi-chain and cross-chain interoperability for business-grade NFT businesses.
Loopring is an Ethereum transaction processor and scaling solution. Loopring’s Layer 2 zkRollup solution enables users to buy and sell NFTs, and transfer ETH to other Loopring Layer 2 accounts at a fraction of the cost of Layer 1 transactions.
Now let’s walk you through getting started with Uptick on Loopring
Uptick on Loopring is based on Loopring Layer 2, as the ‘Transaction Layer’ on the EVM chain. It enables users to easily connect via Metamask.
The first step is installing the extension: Metamask Installation Guide
Once the extension has been successfully installed on your browser, you are now able to create your new ETH wallet. Please remember to store your secret phrase in a secure way — this is very important!
Your wallet can be recovered through the secret phrase.
After you’ve created your ETH wallet, you can click the [Connect wallet] button at the top right corner of the page to link your wallet:
As Ethereum’s first ever zkRollup, Loopring L2 allows users to avoid costly gas fees and network congestion, with the same security as mainnet — 100x cheaper and faster.
First, you will have to activate your L2 account.
Deposit tokens to your L2 account
Activating your Loopring L2 account requires a small payment fee, so please go ahead and deposit some tokens to your L2 account.
Supported token types and the estimated minimum requirements are as follows:
There are two ways to add Loopring L2 assets:
Deposit from your L1 account
Select a token and deposit the minimum requirement. Since activation requires on-chain operations, please remember to save enough ETH for gas.
Deposit from another L2 account
Make a transfer by scanning the QR code.
Wait for the transaction to process
If you have already initiated your deposit, please be patient and check back in a short while, as transactions on Ethereum can take up to 30 minutes. Once your deposit is confirmed on Ethereum, it will be added to your L2 account within about two minutes.
When the button in the upper right corner switches to [Activate Layer 2] it signifies that your L2 wallet is now funded and you’re all set to activate Loopring L2.
When the activation button in the upper right corner switches to an avatar and wallet address, this means you have completed the activation process and are now ready to start exploring Uptick on Loopring!
The main two sections of Uptick on Loopring (with slightly different focuses) are:
LaunchPad
This area displays collections created natively in Uptick on Loopring. We’ve already taken the time to recommend some trending collections for you.
In each collection, you can view the detailed introductions and all of the NFTs pertaining to that collection.
Marketplace
Shows all NFTs Listed on the Uptick on Loopring platform, including NFTs minted outside of the Uptick marketplace (as long as they use the Loopring NFT standards). This provides the possibility for the cross-platform circulation of NFTs in the ecosystem.
Explore NFTs from two sources:
- Minted in Uptick on Loopring
- Minted outside Uptick on Loopring (in the Loopring ecosystem)
Metamask Browser Extension
First, you will need to connect to your activated L2 account through MetaMask and approve the transaction in your wallet extension. Once the transaction has been approved, you can then check your NFTs in [My Profile], which will now be available for trading.
You can find the ‘Buy now’ button on the NFT details page:
Loopring wallet app via WalletConnect
This is suitable for using WalletConnect compatible wallet apps, such as the Loopring wallet app. Users can authorize the purchase operation via the mobile app.
Uptick on Loopring has an intuitive NFT minting interface which provides a convenient way to input and edit NFT information. Previews are also enabled, leading to a much better user experience overall.
Along with providing high-quality NFTs, we believe that editing and optimizing your personal profile is also important. Please take the time to fill in your profile with as much information as possible. Provide links to your social circles, and write a description of the kind of works you’re publishing.
There are just 2 steps to complete the creation of an NFT：
Create a Collection
Fill in the collection information to better inform users about your upcoming series. You can find the creation button for collections at the top-right of the page:
Create NFTs in the Collection
After creating a collection, you can then create NFTs pertaining to that particular collection. It is usually preferred to publish works that follow a similar theme throughout.
Uptick on Loopring provides two ways to list an NFT:
Listing at a [Fixed price], or [Timed auction].
Fixed Price
Fixed price is suitable for both single and Multiple NFTs. Click the ‘Start Sale’ button on the NFT that you want to sell. You will need to choose the token first and then set the sales price.
Timed Auction
Timed auctions are only suitable for single NFTs, which means you need to create a unique NFT to launch the auction. When you initiate an auction sale, you need to set up the auction parameters such as: Starting price, reserve price, buy it now price, auction length. etc.
Please note:
· Auctions cannot be cancelled after a bid has been placed successfully.
· Any bid placed in the last 10 minutes will extend the auction by a further 10 minutes.
We want the Uptick on Loopring platform to have social attributes, so we support basic interactive functions. Collectors can ‘Like’ their favorite NFTs and ‘Follow’ the talented creators.
We also firmly believe that friendly communication is the premise of establishing close relationships. Uptick on Loopring has a 1-to-1 message function, which provides a bridge of communication for pre-sales consultation, after-sales service, and community building.
Users can earn points by purchasing NFTs in Uptick on Loopring. In order to make the reward distribution fairer, we will reward according to the value of the NFTs. Even if you use different tokens, NFTs of the same value will receive approximately the same points. These points represent your long-term loyalty and future benefits on the Uptick platform.
