Tutorial | Entering the Uptick EVM World
Congratulations, you’re about to step into the Uptick NFT multiverse!
Uptick Network has launched the Uptick Testnet based on COSMOS-SDK and EVM, along with the corresponding test version of the Uptick EVM-based NFT marketplace.
The engineering code name for the Uptick EVM Testnet Marketplace is ‘Uptopia’ and will be referenced as such in the following guide.
Please note that the Uptick Testnet and Uptopia test versions will be frequently updated based on new features and bug fixes. This is the purpose of having a testing period. Serious participants will receive incentives, so please keep an eye on Uptick Network’s Medium page and Discord Announcement Channel for further updates.
Now let’s walk you through how to use Uptopia (Web & Mobile Version)
How to get set up on Uptopia (Web)
1) Install Metamask
Uptopia (Web Version) is now based on the EVM chain, enabling users to easily connect with Metamask. First you will need to install Metamask, and here you can find the Metamask Installation Guide.
2) Connect to Uptick Testnet
If this is your first time connecting to Uptick Testnet, you will have to set up a few parameters. However, usually it will pop up and fill in the parameters automatically when you visit Uptopia (Web). All you need to do is click ‘Approve’ to complete and save the settings.
You can also set this manually. Please click ‘Add Network’ at the chain setting list, and fill in the following parameters:
Network Name: Uptick Testnet
New RPC URL: https://peer1.testnet.uptick.network:8645
Chain ID: 7776
Currency Symbol: UPTICK
Block Explorer URL (Optional): https://evm-explorer.testnet.uptick.network/
Please remember to switch to the Uptick Testnet after you’ve set these, or you will not be able to connect to Uptopia.
3) Connect Uptick Wallet
Locate the ‘Connect Wallet’ button at the top right of the page.
If you are a new user of Uptopia, please press ‘Create Account’ and follow the Metamask prompts to complete the wallet creation.
Next, connect your wallet.
If you already have an Uptopia account, you can connect your wallet directly.
How to get set up on Uptopia (Mobile Version)
If you choose to use Uptopia on Mobile, the process is a little more straightforward.
1) Download Uptopia App
You can download the Uptopia app here, or scan the following QR code:
2) Create Account
You will only need to set a unique user name and enter a password to complete the account creation process.
Please keep your mnemonic in a safe place. This is VERY IMPORTANT!
How to synchronize Uptopia (Web) and Uptopia (Mobile) using the same account?
If you already have an Uptopia account (Web), you can export the private key from Metamask and import this into the Uptopia app (Mobile)
After completion, you can now can see that both the Web and Mobile marketplace are synchronized with each other under the same account.
Please note that the ‘Import private key’ function of the Uptopia app is currently awaiting Google Play and Apple Testflight’s review and approval. If you don’t see an ‘Import private key’ option, please wait for a couple of days.
How to get Uptick Testnet Tokens
We have prepared a Tutorial which will walk you through this process.
If you run into any issues, visit the #tech-support channel in our Discord and someone will be there to assist you. Please also remember that crashes, bugs and general hiccups are to be expected. This is the purpose of the Testnet — to fine-tune the network.
If you do spot any bugs, please report them in the #Testnet >#reportbugs channel of our Discord.
